Once thought to be one of the India series patterns by Herculaneum, marked pieces by William Walsh (fl.1815-1822) have subsequently been found. A fine indented plate printed in medium to dark blue showing a procession of the moghul in front of the splendid mausoleum of Sultan Purveiz. A fine print with lots of detail which combines several elements from the original engravings in 'Oriental Scenery' by Thomas Daniell published in 1796. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. A rare pattern to find, especially in such good order. Unmarked. Diameter 25.25cm (9.9in)
