A lovely rustic majolica sugar basin and cream jug with white roses on a dark treacle glaze. Both pieces on three 'twig' feet with lovely turquoise interiors. Minor staining to the sugar and some minor fritting of the glaze to both pieces, but nothing serious. A charming and colourful pair. Unmarked, though some references state George Jones. I would tend towards Holdcroft or Forester. Diameter of bowl 12cm (4.75in), length of jug including handle and spout also 12cm (4.75in)
