A lovely silver lustre cream jug in excellent condition, showing minimal signs of wear; no chips , cracks or restoration. A double scroll handle and a central panel of embossed fruit add to the stunning qualities of this rare piece of Tyneside pottery. Unmarked (as are most lustre pieces), but attributed to Robert Maling, Ouseburn Pottery, Newcastle who brought many of the lustre techniques from the Sunderland potteries when the Malings moved to Newcastle c1815.
