Susie Cooper Green Glazed Platter - Abstract Pattern #618 c1933
An early hand painted Susie Cooper platter, the design first shown at the Dorland Hall Exhibition of British Industrial Art in the summer of 1933. Painted in underglaze black and brown enamel colours with a green glaze. A classic design showing Susie Cooper's approach to the modernist movement. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Small glaze blemish (dark mark top left on the edge of the well), but nothing to detract from this rare item. Stamped 'Susie Cooper, Crown Works', painted '618' with impressed date code for October 1933. Width 30.5cm (12in)
