Information
A stunning and rare Crown Derby porcelain vase painted with stylised floral medallions and trailing leaves, underlined with gold to create a cloisonne enamelled effect in the aesthetic movement taste. The background colour is a lovely 'duck egg' blue; a perfect foil for the jewelled colours. The two cobalt and gilt handles end in oriental style masks which are brushed with gold and have a beautiful 'polished' patination. A fine example of one of the first decorative art movements. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed Crown Derby Porcelain Company (established 1876) mark, no year mark, so prior to 1882 when Derby began year codes. Height 15.25cm (6in)
