A lovely plate, reflecting the Victorian love of ferns. Vivid green ferns with sorrel leaves and flowers on a rich cobalt blue background. The whole is framed with a vibrant pink greek key border. A classic majolica plate; in great condition, without chips, cracks or restoration. There are one or two minor glaze frits round the rim, mentioned for accuracy rather than any great problem. A superb and colourful example of English majolica. Diameter 24.75cm (9.75in)
