Stock Status: Sold Out
Information

The identical goblet is in the Sunderland Museum collection, illustrated in their 'Potteries of Sunderland & District' book (plate 14). It is in good condition; no cracks, chips or repairs. The lustre is in good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. Inside the bowl has been washed with copper lustre, giving a lovely contrast of colours. Platinum oxide was used to produce the 'silver' metallic finish, under exacting firing conditions. Unmarked (as are nearly all early metallic glazes), though probably Scott's Southwick Pottery, Sunderland. Height 11cm (4.35in), diameter 9.5cm (3.75in)
