Stunning Joseph Holdcroft 'Corn on the Cob' Majolica Bread Platter c1880

Stock Status: In Stock
Information

Though unmarked, this design has now been attributed to Joseph Holdcroft of Longton, Staffordshire. He left Minton c1867 to set up his own pottery. With lovely bright colours and crisp moulding, this is a great example of an iconic and most collectable piece of majolica. Difficult to find in good condition, this one is fine. No chips, cracks or restoration and only minor signs of wear and usage (see images 2 & 3), nothing serious. All in all an excellent item. Length 34cm (13.4in)
