A fine Staffordshire swan neck handle jug attributed to Podmore, Walker and Co. Printed in black with two scenes from the battle of Balaclava (Oct 1854), one side showing the charge of the Scots Greys and the other side showing the charge of the French 4th Chasseurs D'Afrique. In excellent order - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Rare to find, especially in such good condition. Unmarked, though a marked example is known with the initials P. W. and Co. (as above). Height 17.4cm (6.8in)
