A fine Spode soup plate printed in medium blue with the 'Bridge of Lucano' pattern based on an engraving by A. H. Payne after a painting by H. Bibby. Framed by a distinctive border of wheat ears, vine leaves, grapes and olive sprigs on a line engraved ground. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear or use. Fine rippled pearlware glaze. Printed SPODE and impressed SPODE 44. Diameter 24.5cm (9.6in)
