(Sold) Lovely George Jones Majolica 'Maple Leaf and Fern' Pattern 2584 Plate c1870

A beautiful George Jones majolica plate with a central leaf surrounded by ferns on a turquoise background. Lovely crisp detail and clear bright colours. The reverse with a fine mottled 'tortoiseshell' glaze. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Glazed over stilt/factory mark to the footrim - part of the manufacture and mentioned for accuracy. Still rare to find in such good order. Painted pattern number 2584 (listed in the George Jones pattern books as 'Leaf and Fern' turquoise ground dessert wares). Diameter 21.5cm (8.5in)
