A superb Mabel Leigh art deco shaped 'Basra' jug incised and hand painted with Persian style flowers and leaves in mauve, pink, yellow and green. Finished with intricate bands of geometric patterns to the rim and base. A lovely example of ethnic inspired Period Pottery. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed 'Shorter and Son' mark with incised 'Basra'. Height 15.2cm (6in)
