A rare Mabel Lucie Attwell trio designed for Shelley, each piece with a toddler leading a rather reluctant donkey with boo-boos on his back and one hanging from his tail. 'Don't forget - the fairies may like a lift upon the way' and hand painted green trim. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Lovely to find in such good order. Signed 'Mabel Lucie Attwell' and 'Shelley England, Copyright Design' backstamps. Diameter of plate 17.75cm (7in)
