Shelley Hilda Cowham Child's bowl c1925 (Sold)

A lovely Hilda Cowham child's bowl designed for Shelley. Printed and hand enamelled with a little girl making flower garlands helped by fairies, the theme continued round the border with fairies holding garlands and painted blue trim. Bone china and in excellent condition; no chips, cracks, restoration or signs of wear or use. Hilda Cowham pieces are rare to find, especially in such good order. Signed 'Hilda Cowham' to the front, with 'Shelley China, England' and registration number 709690 (the first series of her designs introduced in 1924) to the back. Diameter 13.5cm (5.3in)
