Scottish Pottery, Bell's of Glasgow 'Ornithology' Porridge Bowl c1871 (Sold)

A fine Bell's of Glasgow porridge bowl printed in a light to medium blue with two birds sitting on branches in the foreground and a fantastic mountain range in the distance. In great condition with only a little sign of wear and a minor hairline on the foot rim which is barely noticeable. A rare piece of Scottish pottery. Printed bird with scroll 'Ornithology' and part factory mark obscured by impressed date code for 1871. Diameter 13.75cm (5.35in)
