Information

Manufactured by Bell and Co. of Glasgow from the 1840's onwards, marbled wares were produced with various different colour veins; this one in blue. Rare to survive intact, the three pieces making up this covered soap dish and drainer are in great condition. The lid is perfect; the drainer has kiln grit in the glaze (see image 3), but no chips or cracks; the base has one minute chip which is hidden by the drainer (see image 4). A charming piece of early Scottish pottery. Length 14.75cm (5.75in)
