Inspired by John Milton's poem, 'Il Penseroso' is a finely detailed Pre-Raphaelite style parian figure by Royal Worcester. Dressed in simple draperies with hands folded, this feminine personification of poetic thought looks downward in silent contemplation. Lovely quality and in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Impressed Crown and Circle mark (Royal Worcester Porcelain Works 1862-66).
