An early Royal Doulton Shakespeare series 'Ophelia' rack plate with the first series polychrome background introduced in 1912. In excellent condition, showing little sign of wear; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild crazing but nothing to detract. A lovely example of this very collectable early series. Royal Doulton backstamp with 'Ophelia' and painted pattern number D3596. Diameter 26cm (10.25in)
