A fine Royal Doulton Shakespeare series 'Hamlet' vase (shape 7493) with the first series polychrome background introduced in 1912. In excellent condition, showing little sign of wear; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild crazing to the base underneath, but all in all a lovely example of this very collectable early series. Royal Doulton backstamp with 'Hamlet' and impressed DOULTON. Height 14cm (5.5in)
