An early and rare series featuring four inns and three associated authors (Chaucer, Goldsmith and Raleigh). This lovely art nouveau shaped jug features Oliver Goldsmith in front of 'Ye Rosemary Branch Inn' and the house where he wrote the Vicar of Wakefield. This is written on a banner on the lip of the jug. Nicely painted with colour washes and in excellent condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. Printed Royal Doulton, England and painted series number D2079. Height 16cm (6.25in)
