A rare Harlech shape cup and saucer, the cup with three gnomes behind mushrooms (scene 5 of 5 known scenes) and the saucer with six gnomes among the roots of a tree behind mushrooms (scene 4). In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and all of the gold overlaid cobwebs, plants and stars are intact. Some mild crazing, only really noticed on close inspection and the Doulton mark on the cup has been finely scratched with a 'X' denoting a factory second, though i can see no apparent faults. Still a fine example that displays beautifully and a rare shape to find, especially in such good order. Noke signature on saucer. Printed Royal Doulton mark with painted reference D4697. Diameter of saucer 14.75cm (5.75in)
