An unusual Royal Doulton Dickens Ware 'A' Series pudding or dessert dish designed by Charles Noke. Depicts the Fat Boy from 'Pickwick Papers'. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration (the usual natural age related glaze crazing associated with these wares). A fine example of this very collectable first series introduced in 1908. Royal Doulton backstamp with special Dickens Ware mark and painted series number D2973. Impressed Doulton and date for July 1928. Diameter 19cm (7.5in)
