A lovely Cotswold Shepherd twin-handled sugar basin (a shape used exclusively for this range) depicting a shepherd with crook sitting by a tree, his lantern at his side as he watches over his flock. A nice touch is another view of the shepherd and his flock on the inside rim. Fine colours and in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. A rare scene and shape to find, especially in such good order. Royal Doulton mark with 'The Cotswold Shepherd' and painted series number D5561. Width handle to handle 14cm (5.5ins)
