A rare figure inspired by a scene from Delibes' ballet 'Coppelia'. Designed by Peggy Davies, it was the first in a series of ballet studies, introduced in 1953 and continued to 1959. Delicately modelled and beautifully painted, the detail and colours perfectly capture the mood and feel of ballet of the period. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks, crazing or restoration. Full Royal Doulton backstamp. Height 18.25cm (7.25in)
