A finely detailed Robinson & Leadbeater Parian bust of the great Romantic poet Lord George Gordon Byron (1788-1824), Lady Caroline Lamb famously declaring him “mad, bad and dangerous to know”. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Lovely quality and a rare example to find, especially in such good order. Separate socle base attached by the original nut and bolt. Impressed BYRON and R & L. Height 23.5cm (9.25in)
