A rare Adams plate from the Regent's Park Series of three different views of grand residences taken from engravings in Shepherd's 'Metropolitan Improvements' . Printed in dark blue, this one shows St. John's Lodge, a villa owned by John Maberly. A charming scene with a strolling couple in the foreground and a groom with horse and chaise in front of the villa. The whole view is densely framed by trees and foliage. The edge of the plate has moulded scrolls and a printed narrow border of 'beading'. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Printed Eagle with 'Villa in the Regents Park, London' on a ribbon and old collector's label. Diameter 23cm (9in)
