Rare Toft and May Pearlware 'Bird Fountain' Pattern Muffin or Side Plate c1825

A fine and rare small pearlware plate in the Bird Fountain (or Fountain) pattern by the short lived partnership of Toft and May of Hanley (1825-29). A lovely romantic scene with a regency family and dog with a prominent fountain in the foreground. In great condition and a lovely rippled blue glaze on an indented shape with rounded foot rim. Unmarked, though attributed to Toft and May by Coysh. Diameter 15.25cm (6in)
