A fine Spode 'Rome' or 'Tiber' pattern soup plate, well engraved and printed in medium blue, showing a view of Rome from the Tiber, with Castello St. Angelo, Trajan's Column and St. Peter's. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little signs of wear. It's rare to find soup plates in this pattern, especially in such good order. No foot rim and a lovely pale blue rippled glaze. Printed underglaze blue 'Spode' and workman's mark with impressed '8'. Diameter 24.75cm (9.75in)
