Rare Spode Double Indented Dish 'Lange Lijsen' or 'Jumping Boy' Pattern c1810 (Sold)

A lovely Spode serving dish in the early indented shape introduced for the Caramanian series and here printed in medium blue with the 'Lange Lijsen' pattern (sometimes called 'Long Eliza' or 'Jumping Boy'). The scene of two Chinese figures in a landscape with bridge is framed by a wide border of panels showing maidens and flowering hawthorn divided by geometric motifs. In great condition for its age, with only a couple of rough stilt marks to the foot rim. No chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Lovely blue rippled glaze. Printed SPODE with workman's mark and impressed SPODE 31. Length 26cm (10.25in)
