Rare Sowerby Purple Malachite Slag Glass ''Little Jack Horner' Bellows Wall Pocket c1880

A fine Sowerby purple malachite glass nursery rhyme wall pocket modelled as a pair of bellows and moulded in low relief with Little Jack Horner sitting on his stool holding a pie. Lovely 'marbling' and crisp detail. Illustrated in their 1882 pattern book, shape 1285. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. Rare to find, especially with the tip intact. Unmarked, though a well documented Sowerby piece. Length 13.75cm (5.4in)
