Rare Shelley Mabel Lucie Attwell Nursery Ware Child's Potty c1930

A rare Mabel Lucie Attwell baby's chamber pot designed for Shelley. In excellent condition, this is the smallest size produced. Accordingly, not many were sold as it was felt a baby would soon 'outgrow' this tiny size. The compact size does make it a great display item. One side depicts a toddler leading a donkey with boo-boos on its back and one hanging from its tail; the other side shows another child with doll and golly watching acrobatic boo-boos perform on a toadstool. The rim and handle are trimmed in blue. Signed 'Mabel Lucie Attwell' to the front and green 'Shelley, England'  and 'Copyright Design' backstamps on the base. Diameter of rim 15.8cm (6.25in)
