Rare Shelley Hilda Cowham Nursery Ware Tea Plate 'Little Bo-peep' c1925 (Sold)

A lovely Hilda Cowham teaplate designed for Shelley. Printed and hand enamelled with Little Bo-peep and her sheep, the theme continued round the border which is finished with a painted orange trim. Bone china and in excellent condition; no chips, cracks, restoration or signs of wear or use. Hilda Cowham pieces are rare to find, especially in such good order. Signed 'Hilda Cowham' to the front, with 'Shelley China, England' and registration number 709692 (first series of her designs introduced in 1924) to the back. Diameter 15cm (6in)
