Rare Royal Doulton 'Tobogganing A' Series D2955 Rack Plate c1909

A lovely Royal Doulton rack plate from the early 'Tobogganing A' series printed in sepia with hand painted colour. One of six known scenes with three boys on a toboggan in the path of another. A charming subject full of character. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine age related crazing, but nothing to detract from this rare item which still displays beautifully. Printed and impressed Royal Doulton marks with date code for 1909. Diameter 26.6cm (10.5in)
