Rare Royal Doulton Series Ware 'Gallant Fishers' Tudor Jug D3680 c1915

A lovely Royal Doulton 'Gallant Fishers' Tudor shape jug - the smallest of three sizes produced. An early series introduced in 1913 and withdrawn in the 1930s. The jug features a fisherman lying on a wall with the quote "The Gallant Fisher's Life It Is The Best Of Any" on the inside rim. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine age related crazing typical of these wares, but nothing to detract from the display value of this charming item. A rare shape and size to find in this series.
