Information
A lovely wall plate from the seldom seen 'Sedan Chair' series introduced in 1912. One of three scenes, this one depicts a lady holding her skirts in front of a sedan chair with two attendants, framed by a border of topiary hedges and garden seats. The pastel shades are block printed, a technique used at the time (c1910 to 1930) by Royal Doulton on some wares to provide a greater range of colours. Printed Royal Doulton, England mark with D3597. Diameter 26cm (10.25in)
