Rare Royal Doulton Dickens Series G 'Bill Sykes' Relief Moulded Jug D6396 c1953

A superb Royal Doulton relief moulded jug featuring Bill Sykes from 'Oliver Twist'. The jug is moulded as old timber framed buildings with the villain and Bullseye his dog as central figures. The handle is gruesomely modelled as the chimney stack and rope which Bill accidently hanged himself with as he tried to escape over the roof tops. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find in such good order. Special Royal Doulton backstamp. Height 12cm (4.7in)
