Based on the Daily Mirror comic strip, this Royal Doulton series was only produced from 1927 to 1935. Featuring Pip the dog, Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the rabbit created by Uncle Dick (B J Lamb) and drawn by A B Payne, this scarce tea plate shows scene three of five 'What is it Wilfred? Don't hold on to my bag like that!'. In excellent condition, not even crazed. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Printed Royal Doulton mark with Daily Mirror underneath and date impressed for December 1927. Diameter 16.25cm (6.4in)
