Based on the Daily Mirror comic strip, this Royal Doulton series was only produced from 1927 to 1935. Featuring Pip the dog, Squeak the penguin and Wilfred the rabbit created by Uncle Dick (B J Lamb) and drawn by A B Payne. This rare child's dinner plate shows scene five of five, 'Oh Dear, isn't this an ancient pier Pip?', as the trio go on a fishing expedition. In excellent condition, not even crazed. Children's dinner plates are rare to find, especially in collectable designs and in such good order. Printed Royal Doulton mark with Daily Mirror underneath and date impressed for December 1929.
