A superb pearlware leaf shaped serving dish by Robert Hamilton of Stoke (1811 to 1825). Printed in medium blue with a scene of two mounted travellers admiring substantial gothic ruins in a finely engraved landscape. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild age related crazing, though nothing to detract. A rare item to find, especially in such good order. Lovely blue rippled glaze. Unmarked. Width 23.75cm (9.3in)
