A fine twiffler or side plate printed in medium blue with the Game Keeper pattern based on an engraving of 1812 taken from three volumes of rural sports by W. B. Daniel published between 1805 and 1812. An interesting scene showing a game keeper with his dogs in front of a large country house which has been identified as Goodwood House. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. A rare size and subject matter to find, especially in such good order. Printed 'Game Keeper' on a buckled strap in underglaze blue. Diameter 19.75cm (7.75in)
