Information
A beautiful pair of vaseline glass vases from the old Stourbridge firm of Richardson's. Tulip shaped with finely ruffled rims and decorated with stylised art nouveau daisies moulded in low relief. Both with a lovely depth of opalescence and in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or repairs. Rare to find, especially a pair in such good order. Height 15.5cm (6.1in)
The design is illustrated in The Standard Encyclopedia of Opalescent Glass by Mike Carwile page 109 and attributed to either Richardson's or John Walsh Walsh (naming the pattern 'Petals with cupped pearl'), though the late Cyril Manley has documented the moulds for this pattern as belonging to Richardson's.
