Rare Pair of Carlton Ware Blue Lustre 'Parrot' Vases c1925

A superb pair of large Carlton Ware blue lustre vases designed by Enoch Boulton, each with two parrots in red and yellow. The blue lustre is lovely and has great depth of colour with iridescent colour changes. Both vases are in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration. Some mild crazing only really noticed under the base of one (see image 5) and minor rubbing of the gilt around the rims. An early rare design, difficult to find in such good order. Wiltshaw and Robinson mark on one and early Carlton Ware script mark on the other (the two marks ran concurrently in the mid 1920s). Height 28cm (11in)
