Rare Minton Majolica 'Water Lily' Tray c1865 (Sold)

The larger of two sizes produced, this magnificent Minton server has three lily pad compartments with a central flower forming the handle. Three hand made flower buds extend from this and rest on three smaller lily pads. Often damaged or restored, this one is in excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear. Rare to find, especially in such good order. Impressed MINTON with year code for 1865 and shape number 1010 (described in the Minton shape books as "Waterlily Tray - 3 Compartments"). Width 31.75cm (12.5in)
