Rare Mayer and Newbold Opaque China 'Chinoiserie' Pattern Jug with Mask Spout c1830 (Sold)

A fine quality 'opaque china' jug with moulded mask spout by Mayer and Newbold (fl.1817-1833). Printed in deep cobalt blue with chinoiserie garden and pavillion scenes, the detail enhanced with iron red, green and yellow enamelling. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Some minor age flaking around the rim, but nothing to detract from this lovely old jug. Printed 'Opaque China' and 'M & N' in oval cartouche. Height 12.5cm (4.9in)
