In the 1860s, Joseph Holdcroft, like George Jones, left Minton to set up his own pottery in Longton, Staffordshire. Here we have a lovely Grape Leaf & Vine plate, occasionally seen on a cobalt ground but rarely on turquoise. The colours are superb and the modelling is crisp. In great condition with minimal signs of wear; no chips, cracks or restoration. Rare to find impressed 'JH' monogram to reverse. Diameter 21cm (8.25in)
