Rare Maling Green 'Galleon' Pattern 5514 Ink Stand c1929

A lovely Maling oval ink stand with single inkwell. Decorated with black gilded galleons and a seagull on a deep sea green speckled ground. The rims finished in hand tooled best gold - always a sign of quality. In excellent condition - no chips, cracks or restoration and showing little sign of wear (minor rubbing to the inside rim where the lid sits). Original white ceramic liner with traces of ink. A rare item to find, especially complete and in such good order. Printed Maling mark with painted pattern number. Width 17.75cm (7in)
