Rare Majolica 'Picket Fence & Morning Glory' Plant Pot and Stand c1880

Rare to find complete in such a good design and a good usable size. Yellow, turquoise, brown and green make this lovely item also very colourful. Nicely modelled and in good antique condition - minor signs of wear to the rim, but no chips, cracks or restoration. The saucer or stand shows some wear and crazing to the yellow central panel where the pot sits, but again nothing serious. There is a small minor chip underneath on the rim (see image 4) but this doesn't show, and there is an old tight hairline extending about 1 inch from the rim. All in all a lovely and unusual item. Possibly George Jones, unmarked (could be pattern no.1754 'Morning Glory Wooden Tub Flower Pot & Stand' in George Jones archive, though I have been unable to find an illustration of this). Height of pot 13.4cm (5.25in), diameter of rim 14.5cm (5.75in). Diameter of saucer 17cm (6.75in)
