A superb Losol Ware 'Magnolia' pattern ginger jar and cover richly painted with phoenix and stylised art nouveau flowers in crimson, purple, yellow and green on a mottled deep blue ground which is profusely covered with dots of best gold. Details of the design have also been enhanced with best gold, creating a very luxurious feel to the whole piece. It must have been a special order as the magnolia design is usually ungilded. In excellent condition; no chips, cracks or restoration and no signs of wear. A good size and shape which displays beautifully. Printed Keeling and Co, Losol Ware mark. Height 17.5cm (6.9in)
