A superb Grimwade's Bruce Bairnsfather large plaque depicting one of his World War One 'Old Bill' cartoons with the caption 'Here with a loaf of bread beneath the row, A muttered curse, but ne'er a whine, And thou beside me, singing in the wilderness, The wilderness is paradise enow'. Printed in sepia with Bruce Bairnsfather signature. In great condition; no chips, cracks or restoration. Fine all over age related crazing typical of these wares, but nothing to detract. One of the rarer scenes to find. Printed Grimwades Globe mark. Diameter 25.25cm (10in)
