A rare tea plate from Royal Winton's 'Handcraft' range in an unrecorded geometric pattern similar to 'Chimneys' and 'Jazz'. Blocks of sponged enamel colours in blue, orange and tan with a stylised emerging sunburst create a bold art deco design. Unfortunately there is a hairline that extends halfway across the plate though it doesn't show from the front because of the pattern. Also some crazing, again more noticeable on the reverse, so it still displays beautifully. Grimwades, Royal Winton Ivory and Handcraft marks. Diameter 17.5cm (6.9in)
